The Restorer by Sharon Hinck
(2007) Navpress
About the author:
Sharon Hinck is a wife, mother, and author who has experienced many adventures on her road with God, though none has involved an alternate universe (so far). She earned an MA in communication from Regent University in 1986 and spent ten years as the artistic director of a Christian performing arts group, CrossCurrent. When she isn't writing, Sharon enjoys speaking at conferences, retreats, and church groups. She and her family reside in Bloomington,Minnesota.

The book: Susan Mitchell needed a change. Nearly twenty years of marriage to her college sweetheart, Mark, had given her two teenagers and two grade-schoolers, along with miles of unmatched socks, sticky countertops, and the ever-growing hum of sheer bedlam.

When had she become so insignificant? Hadn't God once had a plan for her?

Mark had a plan, an attic hideaway free of iPods, science projects and cookie crumbs. Before Susan finishes her first journal entry, she finds herself pulled into a alternative world as a Restorer.

She finds there is a plan for her, and she grows to become the Restorer. While she struggles to adapt to a foreign culture, unfamiliar technologies and taboos, she faces unexpected battles, mind-poisoning enemies and a spiritual journey from the One.
